The worldwide unity of Jehovah's Witness
by paul from cleveland ineverything i read on this website and elsewhere indicates that the witness are extremely united in doctrine and practices worldwide.
when i'm reading comments here, i have no idea whether the person is posting from the us or some other part of the world (unless they say so).
everyone's experience seems to be the same wherever they live.

I'm Out
by Cthulhu inwednesday night i recieved a call from both the coeb and the kingdom hall.
i didn't answer.
yesterday i called him back and i was informed that unless i wanted to talk to the brothers they had determined that my actions spoke for themselves and that i had by those actions disassociated myself.

Cthulhu.....here is a leaving JW anthem I recommend. Play it loud and listen to the words closely for motivation.

Would you accept a microchip implant?
by MarkSutter inassuming the governments would pass a law requiring everyone to have a microchip i.d.
implant with gps tracking capabilities, storing your personal and financial data but also record all your movements.. would you be for or against it?.
personally i don't have a problem with it but i'm just wondering , what would be the drawbacks for the normal, law abiding citizen?.

I heard they were going to implant the chip in people's genitalia and that it was also heat sensitive, so the govt. or GB could also tell how often you were having sex.

Onereason for a gentleman fader to stay reasonably associated...
by whataburger inone congregation phenomenon i have observed in a variety of halls - older, not so model material brothers have a real chance with younger, attractive sisters - and often at the prodding of the young sisters parents and congregation members.. and if you have a little more scratch than the average jw brother (which isn't hard to do with a bunch of window washers), you really have an advantage.. a 40 year old man walking through the mall would have zero chances with an attractive 18+ year old girl.
but take that same man, who has been faithfully attending meetings and doing all the right things and put him in the kingdom hall and suddenly anything is possible.. sad, but true.. of course, who wants all the drama that comes with a girl that young - but it is something i have observed.. when i was in my early 20's and came back into "the truth", and i had a few dollars - and i had so many sisters tripping all over themselves for me... and the ages range from late teens to late 30's.
it was crazy.

Went and gave the talk at this one cong. There was an older 60+ elder there that I had vaguely known. His wife of many years died a few months earlier and he was already married to this girl in her early 20's. It was very shocking.

did you feel guilty ,when ignoring disfellowshipped ones ?
by looloo ini was having an affair with a pioneer at the time and a girl who was disfellowshipped was in the loo at the hall (she actually had not done aything scriptually wrong (but the elders thought she had ) i tried to smile at her as i felt i was not in a position to judge anyone as guilt was destroying me but she just looked down at the floor , 14 years later we are good friends and both "free".
when you were "in" and ignored disfellowshipped did you ever think "im not in a position to judge anyone " ?.

I smiled and spoke to DF'd ones. I was glad they were there and was going to treat them good. Being rude is against my nature.
After a CO visit meeting, I was asking a DF sister how her young son was doing. Later the CO informs me that wasn't proper. It ended up with me calling a one-on-one meeting with him to chew his ass out. I can't remember how much longer I stayed an elder, but was soon gone.

I use to sing this to my college sweet heart as we slow danced alone in the basement of the frat house.
We were madly in love.
Later, I told her about my JW background.........and she dumped me.
Listen to the lyrics.

Satan, could be the good guy
by excito-are inyou know, there is always two sides to a story, sometimes more.
surely that must be the same with the bible stories.
who in all logic would only listen to one side and form all opinions from that.

I've done business with groups from different religions. Never felt the need to join them, but depending on the situation the connections could definitely help your business. Was out of JW's by then and always kept that to myself. One thing I've noticed since I am no longer a JW, is folks in the workplace and business world are not very fond of them.
In the business world, despite brotherhood....it usually comes down to the price.

The 9/11 event is what I thought of when I recently heard the news that the WTS was making plans to leave NYC.
I think it makes a great idea from a secular business standpoint, but doesn't that show a lack of faith in Jehovah to protect his "channel on earth"?
Could you imagine the impact on JW's faith if another 9/11 event hit NYC and severely impacted the WTS?
If the WTS was Jehovah's "channel on earth" and we were so deep into the end.....I would think he would keep them safe, therefore no need to waste all that money building and moving to a new worldwide HQ.
